Product Description
Some pieces are furniture. A rare few are provenance.
The Coronado is a pair of authenticated Arturo Pani for Muller of Mexico side tables — onyx and brass, made in Mexico in the mid-twentieth century, each carrying the Muller of Mexico maker's mark and patent. Arturo Pani was the designer who defined Mexican modernism: glamorous, architectural, and unmistakably refined. Authenticated pairs of his work trade in the thousands at auction and through design dealers. This is one such pair.
Columns of richly veined natural onyx — no two alike, each a cross-section of stone laid down over geological time — set against warm, hand-patinated brass. The onyx glows when light passes near it; the brass holds the warmth of the room. Small in footprint, the Coronado pair is large in presence: the polished, collectible detail that tells a guest the entire setting was composed by someone who knows the difference.
We named it for the Hotel del Coronado — the 1888 island landmark where California first learned what seaside luxury could feel like. Heritage, refinement, and a sense of history: the name and the piece tell the same story.
The Coronado crosses registers with quiet confidence — beside cognac leather in a wine-country lounge, against the clean lines of a modern glam setting, or as the refined counterpoint to a rustic, heritage-timber vignette.
Available à la carte as a pair — $245.
